Johnson Matthey is a specialty chemicals company with operations in more than 30 countries and which employs around 13,000 people worldwide. The company is organized into five global divisions: Environmental Control Technologies (ECT), Process Technologies, Precious Metal Products, Fine Chemicals and New Businesses. Johnson Matthey SEC is part of the larger ECT Division and we benefit from ECT’s extensive experience in developing catalytic emission control for the Automotive and Heavy Duty Diesel industries, however, control of stationary emissions presents unique challenges. So SEC has developed a portfolio of unique solutions to treat emissions from stationary sources including industrial processes, incineration of waste, power generating engines and turbines, marine engines and locomotives. And in doing so, Johnson Matthey SEC has become a world leader in catalytic control of emissions from stationary sources.

Johnson Matthey’s principal activities include the manufacture of auto catalysts, heavy duty diesel catalysts and pollution control systems, catalysts and components for fuel cells, catalysts and technologies for chemical processes, fine chemicals, chemical catalysts and active pharmaceutical ingredients and the marketing, refining and fabrication of precious metals.

Johnson Matthey’s Stationary Emissions Control (SEC) group has been providing environmental catalysts and emission solutions to industry for over 40 years. Our VOC oxidation catalysts are widely used in catalytic reactors around the world controlling VOC and halogenated VOC emissions from a variety of industrial processes. SEC provided the first SCR and CO catalysts for controlling NOx emissions from gas turbines in California and pioneered the 3-Way NSCR catalytic converter for rich burn gas engines. SEC was one of the first companies to successfully apply SCR technology for marine engines and electric power generating plants.
